YEREVAN. – There is nothing bad in the fact that the newly appointed ministers’ relatives have engaged in business and accumulated wealth.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Mkrtich Minasyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday.

“But being rich does not mean having a lot of money; there can be a spiritual wealth,” Minasyan also noted.

Opposition Heritage Party Board Secretary Stiopa Safaryan, on the other hand, expressed a conviction that the present-day government is an “oligarchy government.”

“This is a classic oligarchy when an official accumulates illegal money, and our ministers have amassed wealth in this way,” Safaryan stated, in particular.

There are views that businessmen are a majority in Armenia’s new government.
