YEREVAN. – Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov’s statement made against James Warlick, the US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, was just improper.

Armenia’s Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan noted the above-said at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to Iskandaryan, the Azerbaijanis have started to get nervous, and this is also evidenced by what is happening inside the country.

“It’s hard to make accountable statements, since Azerbaijan’s political life is extremely enclosed. But all this is linked to a change in Russia’s role in the post-Soviet space,” the analyst maintained.

Iskandaryan also noted that the US will soon issue a statement of response to Azimov’s announcement, and that this statement might be made by Warlick himself.

In a recent statement, Azerbaijan Deputy FM Araz Azimov had harshly criticized James Warlick, accused him of partiality and carrying out orders, and noted that the Azerbaijani party may demand that Warlick be recalled from his capacity as OSCE Minsk Group co-chair.
