YEREVAN. – Portugal’s new Ambassador to Armenia Mário Godinho de Matos (diplomatic residence in Moscow) on Monday presented a copy of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Manasaryan.

Manasaryan expressed the hope that the newly appointed diplomat will make use of his knowhow and knowledge for the development of Armenian-Portuguese relations, the Armenia MFA press service informed. 

In turn, Ambassador Matos assured that he intends to take active steps to expand cooperation with Armenia.  

The interlocutors underscored the need to invigorate political discourse, expand trade and economic relations and legal and contractual framework, deepen cooperation within international organizations, and strengthen scientific and cultural ties between Armenia and Portugal.
