YEREVAN. – Armenia sees a profound, long, and wide discourse with the European Union (EU) at the basis of its policy.
Ruling Republican Party MP Artak Zakaryan, who is also Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

In Zakaryan’s conviction, Armenia-EU relations have a great potential.

“The objective and meaning of the subsequent political processes will be to fulfill the existing potential as much as possible,” he noted.

To the query on whether or not there still are chances for signing the political section of the Armenia-EU Association Agreement, the ruling party MP responded:“At this point what’s important is not what it will be named, but rather EU-Armenia cooperation is being built on mutually beneficial basis.”

He also noted that cooperation has numerous forms.

“There always are relations if there is interest and potential between the sides, and this potential exists between Armenia and the EU,” Artak Zakaryan concluded.
