YEREVAN. – Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin said every nation has a right to self-determination.

In an interview with Noyev Kovcheg (Noah's Arc) newspaper, asked whether Crimea can be a precedent for Karabakh, Volynkin said we must take into account the fact that every nation has a right to self-determination.

“It's not easy to answer the question. We probably need to come from the fact that every nation has the right to self-determination. And the question whether the nation will be able to determine itself and gain freedom depends on the specific historical conditions. After all, Russia has not sought to to regain Crimea by all means,” Ambassador said.

According to the diplomat, the things turned so that it was impossible for Russian-speaking Crimea to be ruled by the Bandera, fascist elements: “We came to help our Russian brothers. Therefore, it is difficult to predict how and what will be. But, nevertheless, there is a precedent”.
