YEREVAN. – The Armenian refugees’ return to Syria is in the national interests of Armenia.
Harutyun Selimian, who heads the Evangelical community in the Syrian city of Aleppo, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The Armenian Question still hangs in the air, and the Syrian[-Armenian] community’s role is very important in an effective progress in this regard.
“If we are able to maintain the integrity of the community, it may be most useful for [official] Yerevan, rather than transferring the human and material resources to Armenia,” Selimian stressed.
But, according to the leader of the Evangelical community in Aleppo, until the time when the Syrian Armenians will be able to return to their homes, it is necessary to solve the problems they face in Armenia.
