Russian president Vladimir Putin congratulated the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia as well as people of Georgia and Ukraine on the 69th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In his message Putin said that the heroic act of our grandfathers is a heroic chapter of the common history. It is a duty of the leadership of the states to preserve historical truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War. 

Putin said he is confident that common memory of the Great Victory will serve as background for strengthening of friendship between the nations, further development of cooperation and ensuring regional stability and security.

Putin expressed gratitude to the veterans and wished them health and prosperity.
