YEREVAN. – The day of victory in the Great Patriotic war is one of the most brilliant and important days for those countries that have contributed to the achievement of this victory, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters on Friday.

“Glory and honor to all participants in the Great Patriotic [War during World War II]. Owing to their efforts, a long-term peace is established in the world.

“We were raised by their example, having their feat in sight. And this became the guarantee of our victory at the Artsakh [Karabakh] War, making May 9 a triple celebration.

“First, the Victory Day. In modern history, we liberated the ancient Armenian fortress, [the Nagorno-Karabakh City of] Shushi, and the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army was formed,” Ohanyan specifically noted.
