Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II is on a visit to the Vatican where he held a number of meetings.

During the visit, His Holiness had a conversation with former Pope Benedict, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed.

Catholcios Karekin II met with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Cardinal Kurt Koch and Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri.

His Holiness visited St. Peter's Basilica, gravestones to Pope John XXIII and John Paul II, canonized by the Catholic Church. Armenian Patriarch prayed at the monument to St. Gregory the Illuminator.
