YEREVAN. – There is nothing new; even more so, there is no specific approach in the speech by OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick. 

Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Board Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan noted the above-said at a press conference on Monday. 

“The Madrid Principles [toward the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict] are unacceptable; [and] the six points Warlick presented [in his speech] are from these very principles,” he added.

In Martirosyan’s words, Karabakh’s independence and the matter of liberated territories are not subject to discussion. 
“The liberated areas belong solely to Karabakh. It is clear that one’s own guarantee is the sole guarantee in the world today.

“At any rate, we live in a dynamically changing world. The more we are able to make use of this situation, it will be that much more better for us, since France [whose president will visit Armenia on Monday] also plays a role in the Karabakh issue [as a Minsk Group co-chairing country],” Heritage’s official stated. 

As reported earlier, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick delivered a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on May 7, during which he presented the six key elements for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
