YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA) members have thanked their colleagues at the California State Assembly for adopting a resolution to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan announced the aforementioned at Monday’s special parliamentary session.

“We thank our colleagues in California for the resolution they have adopted,” Sahakyan stated.

On May 8, the California State Assembly, by a vote of 70-1, recognized the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, encouraging and supporting NKR’s continuing efforts to develop as a free and independent nation.

As a result, California has joined the US States of Rhode Island, Maine, Massachusetts, and Louisiana, which already have recognized Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence.
