»YEREVAN. – The final status of Nagorno-Karabakh must be decided by way of the people’s freedom of expression, which is legally binding. 

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan noted the above-said at Tuesday’s joint news conference—in capital city Yerevan—of the Presidents of Armenia and France.

Sargsyan stated the aforementioned reflecting on OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick’s speech delivered on Karabakh, and the Co-Chairs’ statement released on the 20th anniversary of the Karabakh ceasefire agreement.
“This precept has no alternative; the presidents of the co-chairing countries [Russia, US, and France], the Co-Chairs, have repeatedly stated this. The last time Warlick presented them, and he said nothing new.

“Each conflict has its origin, history; there are backgrounds for each of them. No matter how hard the Azerbaijan leadership attempts to interpret these precepts in its own way, nothing will come about.

“I don’t share the approach that, as if, different countries manifest double standards. These are not double standards; these approaches stem from the origin, history and backgrounds of the conflicts. I see no change,” the Armenian President specifically said.
