YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmarityan promised “good news about low-cost airlines”.

The Ministry continues its work to attract such companies to the Armenian market, he told reporters on Tuesday, adding that the interests of  market participants must be taken into account.

“It is easier for low-cost companies to come to a new market, but their presence may create difficulties for other companies. We must take into account the interests of all parties, but we will work consistently and will soon have good news for you,” he said.

Last November, the director of the Zvartnots airport  Marcelo Vende informed about negotiations with the Ryanair Company.

Earlier this year the head of Armenia's civil aviation department Artyom Movsesyan said negotiations with low-cost companies are in progress.
