YEREVAN. – The French political elite and people are Armenia’s first political partner on the road to rapprochement with the European Union (EU). 

Armenia Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan told the aforementioned to reporters on Wednesday, reflecting on France President François Hollande’s recent state visit to Armenia.

“[But] the European elites have realized that it is impossible to build a developing and peaceful European space through conflict, including with Russia.

“I regret that, to understand all this, it was necessary to experience several tragedies in Ukraine,” Ashotyan added.
