YEREVAN. – Within the working framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, the European Union (EU) solely plays a supporting role in contributing to the creation of conditions for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.  

Ambassador Traian Hristea, who is Head of the Delegation of the EU to Armenia, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

Hristea stated the above-said commenting on the recent statements—specifically, those by OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick—with respect to the settlement of the conflict, and the likelihood of a change in the status quo.

In the ambassador’s words, the EU would like to see the results of the process along the lines of the Minsk Group.

As reported earlier, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick delivered a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on May 7, during which he presented the six key elements for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
