YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will allocate drams equivalent to approximately USD 100,000, to reimburse the fee for the issuance of Republic of Armenia passports to Syrian Armenians.

FM Edward Nalbandian introduced the respective draft decision at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

The decision is taken in consideration of the perils that threaten those Syrian Armenians who were forced to leave Syria and who have expressed a wish to receive Armenian citizenship.

These Syrian Armenians are issued Republic of Armenia passports at the consular offices of Armenia’s diplomatic missions in Syria and neighboring countries.
