YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on Friday met with Norway’s new Ambassador to Armenia Leidulv Atle Namtvedt, whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow.  

The PM congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia. Abrahamyan also noted that the Government of Armenia will assist the Norwegian diplomat as much as possible in his efforts to further develop relations between the two countries.

In turn, the ambassador Namtvedt assured that he will do his utmost to deepen Armenian-Norwegian relations.
At the diplomat’s request, PM Abrahamyan reflected on the program of Armenia’s newly formed government, and presented the ongoing and planned reforms in the country. He added that the program will be realistic, and steps will be taken to create equal conditions for doing business in, and drawing foreign investments to, Armenia.

The Armenian premier also underscored the high-level official mutual visits. 

In addition, Armenia’s PM handed to the Norwegian ambassador an invitation to Norway’s premier to pay a visit to Armenia, and he considered it expedient to hold an Armenian-Norwegian business forum during this visit. 
The parties also highly appreciated the humanitarian ties that are established between Armenia and Norway.

Furthermore, the interlocutors exchanged views on geopolitical and regional developments.
