A second earthquake in recent weeks hit the German Federal State of Hessen on Sunday.

The Nieder-Beerbach area was most affected by the 4.2-magnitude tremor, as the natural disaster damaged seventy buildings.

“That’s a pretty strong earthquake for our region,” geophysicist Matthias Kracht stated, the Deutsche Welle Russian Service reported citing dpa.

According to preliminary assessment, the earthquake damage amounted to about €1 million.

But there are no reports on human losses.

In late March, a magnitude-3.2 quake was recorded in the southern part of Hessen.
