YEREVAN. – There is no need to make a tragedy, or look for a sensation, because of the statements by US Co-Chair James Warlick of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Karine Achemyan stated the above-said at a press conference on Monday.
In Achemyan’s words, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has clearly said that the Minsk Group Co-Chairs have said nothing new.

“This diplomat certainly received all the adequate responses,” the RPA deputy stressed.

She added that in many cases the diplomats make statements that are not to the liking of the parties.

The MP also recalled that Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan clearly presented their position, according to which the people of Karabakh are free and independent, and there cannot be a return to the past status.

“We need to look ahead, [and] not discuss the return of lands. We have recorded de facto and, in several years, we will receive the legal formulation, too,” Karine Achemyan concluded.

As reported earlier, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick delivered a speech at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on May 7, during which he presented the six key elements for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
