YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan offered Armenian parliament the candidacy of Arthur Javadyan's  as the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia for the second term, Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told the lawmakers.

In his speech, Javadyan thanked president and the government for confidence. He noted that in the post-crisis years, the Central Bank was able to balance the monetary policy with fiscal to avoid conflict between economic growth and low inflation.

During the global financial crisis, the Central Bank continued to focus on price stability, he added. The financial system has been provided with sufficient liquidity and maintained self-sufficiency.

Javadyan, formerly deputy chairman of the Central Bank, was appointed the chairman in 2008 after his predecessor Tigran Sargsyan was appointed Prime Minister.
