YEREVAN. – Both the European Union (EU) and Armenia need one another, Greek Ambassador to Armenia Ioannis Taghis told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his conviction, Armenia’s decision to join the Russia-led Customs Union is not an obstacle before the road to Armenia’s EU integration.

“We have faith that Armenia can develop a parallel cooperation with EU; this will be in Armenia’s favor.

“Reforms are in need for Armenia. I believe the EU is always ready to continue the cooperation in the implementation of reforms in Armenia.

“I am convinced that Armenia’s European integration process has not been interrupted because of the [country’s] Customs Union accession [process],” Ambassador Taghis noted.

The Greek diplomat added that the path is open and the Armenia-EU cooperation can be continued.
