YEREVAN. – The Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border remains closed for traffic.

The reports were confirmed by Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry at the Georgian Department on emergency situations.

On Monday the Security and Crisis Management Council of Georgia  announced that seven people are considered missing as a result of the landslide that occurred in the morning of May 17 at the Darial Gorge. 

According to the Georgian department on emergency situations, 11 citizens of Armenia were evacuated from the disaster area to a safe place.
