YEREVAN. – The minimum wage in Armenia should be raised gradually up to 65,000 drams (approx. $158), per month.
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated the aforesaid Tuesday at the parliament, as he introduced the new government’s program.

As of January 1, the monthly minimum wage in Armenia is 50,000 drams (approx. $121).

“One of the fundamental human rights is the right for a decent paying job, and we have to ensure that right,” Abrahamyan said.

The PM also noted that, as of July 1, it is planned to increase the salaries of civil servants, and to create favorable conditions for raising salaries in Armenia’s private sector.
