YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Manvel Badeyan does not comprehend why the society treats shadow business so badly.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Badeyan became angry when he was asked about PM Hovik Abrahamyan’s recent meeting with the representatives Armenia’s large businesses.

“On the one hand, informal meetings are much appreciated. I think that format should not be criticized in itself.

“What’s wrong with the head of the government meeting with the business community? The PM just said that they [the large businesses in Armenia] work within the limits of the law,” Badeyan noted.

The RPA deputy also expressed a conviction that there is nothing bad in shadow business activities.

“Shadow business is topical in all countries. Shadow business is not a crime, it’s a shortcoming,” Manvel Badeyan added.
