YEREVAN. – Armenia needs a roadmap on European integration that will not contradict the Eurasian one, PM Hovik Abrahamyan said in parliament on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister believes Armenia’s policy must continue based on the idea of complementary approaches.

“Western European values are conscious choice of our people, and we will continue the process,” Abrahamyan said.

Following the talks that were held on September 3, 2013 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Consequently, Armenia did not initial Association Agreement with EU during the third Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, but adopted a joint statement.
