YEREVAN. – Armenia's interdepartmental commission and a working group on captives, hostages and missing persons is clarifying data on those missing during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh (photo).
For this purpose, meetings were arranged with relatives of missing persons living in Ararat Region under the instruction of Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan who is chairing the commission.
The are 28 families of the missing in the region, mostly mothers, wives, children of the missing soldiers and volunteers.
The commission took measures to provide possible assistance, in particular the relatives could apply for a medical examination or a surgery.
A representative of the working Ggroup, Lieutenant Colonel Samvel Asatryan noted that the families of missing persons are in need of assistance and attention.
“The government has not forgotten about them. Search operations are being conducted,” he emphasized.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of local authorities.
