YEREVAN. – Armenian Defense Seyran Ohanyan arrived in Yerevan safely, his spokesperson said commenting on the Sunday incident.

The aircraft arrived in Yerevan successfully following an emergency landing, Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, assuring there was no problem.

The plane heading from Moscow to Yerevan with Minister Ohanyan on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport shortly after takeoff. The reason was that an indicator showed a smoke alert in baggage section.

Among 161 passenger on board was Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan who was coming back from an international security conference held in Moscow.
