YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian offered to study the congratulatory address of President Sargsyan in order to understand official Yerevan's response to Ukrainian presidential elections.

“The response can be seen in the congratulatory message sent to newly elected president of Ukraine,” Nalbandyan said in response to journalists' questions.

Asked whether Armenia recognizes presidential elections in Ukraine, the Minister said: “The president sent a congratulatory message. Doesn't it mean we recognize?”

In his message, Serzh Sargsyan congratulated  Petro Poroshenko on his victory in the presidential elections.

“I am sure that promoting harmonious collaboration between Armenia and Ukraine, intensifying the mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation and our countries’ commitment to continually enlarge the humanitarian ties will stimulate promoting the bilateral interstate relations grounded on the age-old friendly ties between Armenians and Ukrainians,” the message reads.
