YEREVAN. – A sabotage operation was committed by the Azerbaijani side on the night of May 28 at the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, and the Armenian side gave an adequate response, Armenian Defense Minister said.

“The opposing side usually violates ceasefire during such days. Today is a holiday in Azerbaijan, and this is the reason for an act of sabotage. I have talked to Karabakh Defense Minister. He said the ceasefire regime was violated by Azerbaijani side. Unfortunately, we had one victim and the injured,” Defense Minister told reporters.

The Minister said there has been recently certain tension at the line of contact. It happens because Azerbaijan wants to show they do not understand that ceasefire regime must be observed for the settlement of Karabakh conflict.

Azerbaijan launched another intelligence-diversionary infiltration attempt in the southerly direction of the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of May 28.

The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army vanguard units took retaliatory actions and drove the adversary back to its starting positions, the Defense Army press service reported. According to preliminary reports, Azerbaijani side had losses: at least two killed and one injured.
