YEREVAN. – An invitation addressed by President Serzh Sargsyan to a Turkish leader mat become a subject for U.S. and EU pressure on Turkey, director of Museum-Institute of Armenian Genocide Hayk Demoyan told Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper.

He thinks the U.S. and EU may press Turkey to accept an invitation and visit Yerevan on April 24, 2015.  Demoyan explained the lack of immediate reaction from Turkey by “a surprise effect”.

“That is why there is no reaction, but I do not doubt it will follow,” Demoyan added.

“It should be noted that incumbent PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to become Turkey's next president. In August the president for the first time will be elected by national vote,” the newspaper writes.
