YEREVAN. – The visit of Turkish president to Armenia will become a political crime, analyst Ruben Melkonyan said commenting on the recent invitation by Serzh Sargsyan.

Such a move by Turkish leader will be a serious blow to a consistent policy of genocide denial carried out by the Turkish state for years.

“It is clear that Ankara is a prisoner of his its own people educated by anti-Armenian sentiments,” Melkonyan told reporters on Thursday.

He noted that Turkish authorities are committing a crime not only against humanity, but against their own citizens who live in an atmosphere of lies and hypocrisy.

During his speech at meeting of a state commission dealing with preparations for the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, Serzh Sargsyan invited his Turkish counterpart to visit Yerevan on April 24, 2015.
