YEREVAN. – The letter of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev to the leaders of Customs Union member states proves the advantage of Eurasian integration for Armenia, deputy chairman of Armenia's ruling party Armen Ashotyan said.

“Armenia has obviously chosen the Eurasian integration path given its national interests. It is also obvious that realizing this Azerbaijan is trying to block the process. Aliyev's letter is an answer to Eurasian integration skeptics. Azerbaijan has calculated all economic, humanitarian, military and technical, political advantages that Armenia may get. This is explained by attempts to torpedo the process,” Ashotyan added.

During the meeting of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana, Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about the letter by President Ilham Aliyev calling to to accept Armenia only within its internationally recognized borders. Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated the need to sign all documents in the shortest possible time, in fact, ignoring the message of Aliyev's letter.
