YEREVAN. –  The letter sent by Ilham Aliyev cannot have grave consequences and will not torpedo Armenia's joining Eurasian Economic Union, chairman of the ruling party said.

Armen Ashotyan, Education Minister and deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, does not think that presidents have to publish letters sent to each other.

During the meeting of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana, Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about the letter by President Ilham Aliyev calling to to accept Armenia only within its internationally recognized borders. Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated the need to sign all documents in the shortest possible time, in fact, ignoring the message of Aliyev's letter.

Asked why Nursultan Nazarbayev read the letter, unless it was a move to defend Baku's interests, the Ministetr replied: “You certainly have annoying friends or neighbors with their endless problems. You are tired of them, but still do what they want, otherwise the relationship can be damaged permanently”.
