“Georgia unconditionally supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, and Azerbaijan also supports Georgia’s territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic desires.”

Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashenidze noted the aforesaid at a reception held in Baku on the Independence Day of Georgia, reported APA news agency of Azerbaijan.

“The development of the South Caucasus region mostly depends on the relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan. One of the main directions of the Georgia-Azerbaijan relations is regional projects that are jointly implemented. These projects are serving European and Asian countries,” the ambassador stated.

The diplomat also said the targets of both countries create a basis for close relations in the political, economic, humanitarian fields, and joint cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

“Friendly relations and cooperation with neighbouring countries is the main principle of Georgia’s foreign policy and its obvious case is our relations with Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan and Georgia, the two fraternal countries, have side by side got over all difficulties for years, and are taking steps in the direction of a joint target like building a modern, developed, democratic state.

“Restoration of our countries’ territorial integrity within internationally recognized boundaries is the top duty for both countries,” Sharashenidze specifically noted.
