YEREVAN. – A total of 957,000 tourists visited Armenia last year, Economy Minister said in the parliament. As compared with 2012, the number of visitors has increased by 13.5 percent.
Karen Chshmarityan said the government spent around $111,000 on the development of tourism. The amount was allocated for the participation of 34 Armenian travel agencies in the international exhibitions in Madrid, Berlin and London.
Any visit to Armenia from abroad is recorded as a visit of a tourist.
