YEREVAN. – Nagorno-Karabakh will not enter into the Customs Union (CU) because, from the legal point of view, it is not a state that is recognized by the world.

Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan stated the aforementioned at the NA on Monday.

“As Armenia’s customs territory, naturally, Karabakh will be with the same status as today’s functions. That is, the image that there will be a customs checkpoint in Karabakh, there cannot be such problems,” Sahakyan noted.

To the query as to whether what he says means that Nagorno-Karabakh will de facto join the CU, but de jure not, the head of the Armenian parliament responded: “Of course. All of its turnover of goods, investments, everything will be in Armenia and in Karabakh, alike.”
