Russia officially informed PACE about the decision to suspend cooperation and not to participate in the summer session of the Assembly, head of Russia’s PACE delegation said.
Alexei Pushkov said the Russian delegation would not participate in the June session and would halt cooperation until they lift sanctions. He said Tiny Cox, the chairman of the Party of the European Left in the assembly, had been informed about the decision during his trip to Moscow.
During the sproing session PACE adopted resolution depriving Russia of the right to vote till the end of 2014 sessions.
Russia has been excluded from the Bureau, presidential and permanent committees till the end of the year. The delegation is deprived of the right to participate in the Assembly's observation missions.
