Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova have launched a regional discussion on the management of pastures, protection of ecosystems and climate change, reported the official website of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia

The workshop, which is held on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Georgian capital city Tbilisi, “brought together representatives of the Ministries of the four countries, European Union, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and experts on carbon monitoring from Moldova and Germany,” the statement reads.

The meeting was organized under the programme Clima East—a European Union funded initiative that assists the Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia in approaches to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The workshop in Tbilisi was the first regional event that will provide forum to the Clima East countries to discuss common issues and challenges of pasture management and formulate specific needs for policy changes.
