YEREVAN. – A meaningful and an inclusive agenda of cooperation has formed ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Switzerland.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan told the aforementioned to the members of the media, and following his talk Wednesday with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Confederation President, and Head of the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

“We discussed Armenian-Swiss cooperation, as well as, in the context of Switzerland’s OSCE Chairmanship, we reflected on the regional and international security challenges and interaction.

“We gave a positive assessment to the steady growth in bilateral trade, owing to which Switzerland is our fourth [largest] trading partner from among the European countries.

“As an important new platform in Armenian-Swiss cooperation, we [also] recorded the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

“Within the OSCE dimension we reaffirmed the mutual desire to deepen the cooperation further. Armenia will support Switzerland in its OSCE Chairmanship. We underscore Switzerland’s well-known reputation as an impartial and honest broker in international relations,” President Sargsyan specifically noted.
