Just like Vakif (Vakifli), an Armenian-populated village may be set up in Dersim (today’s Tunceli Province), Turkey.
Ismail Cem Halavurt, who is Chairman of the Faith and Social Assistance Union of Dersim Armenians, stated the aforementioned, Akunq.net reported.

A group of Dersim Armenians had assembled at the hall of the Surp Harutyun (Holy Resurrection) Armenian Church in Istanbul. The evening event brought together around 250 people.

Halavurt delivered remarks at the event, and informed that the union members had paid visits to the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople and several other institutions, with which relations were established based on mutual trust.

The head of the union also provided information on future plans of the association.

The most noteworthy topic in Halavurt’s remarks was the project on the establishment of a new Armenian village in Turkey.

“We are planning to set up an Armenian village in Dersim, which [the village] will provide for itself by way of the cooperatives and enterprises to be created. The village will become symbolic in Anatolia, and it will be the second Armenian village [in Turkey], after Vakifli,” the Dersim Armenians’ union head specifically noted.
