YEREVAN. – The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), which now makes harsh statements against Russia, was praising that country several years ago.
Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction Secretary Tevan Poghosyan, who is a member of the NA delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA), stated the aforementioned to reporters on Monday.
Poghosyan commented on the NATO PA statement, which was adopted during the Assembly’s most recent session that was convened in the Lithuanian capital city Vilnius.
“Everything stems from the interests of the alliance. [If] the interests change, the statements likewise change; perhaps they even become soft like the previous [one],” the Armenian MP added.
In turn, ruling Republican Party MP Koryun Nahapetyan, who heads the NA delegation to the NATO PA, noted that Ukraine and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s policy have become the main topic on the Assembly agenda. As per Nahapetyan, the NATO parliamentarians have voiced the need to find solutions through compromises.
