The next phase in the Russia-Ukraine natural gas talks, which was held in Brussels and with participation by a European Union (EU) representative, again ended without a final agreement, Interfax news agency reported.  

“Our Ukrainian and Russian associates need to consult with their governments, and the negotiations may continue on Tuesday night at 9pm, or on Wednesday morning at 9,” said Günther Oettinger, European Commissioner for Energy, after the meeting.

He also noted, however, that despite the lengthy negotiations, there still are “open issues” and “different views” among the parties.
