YEREVAN. – In all likelihood, ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Koryun Nahapetyan, who heads the National Assembly (NA) delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA), and opposition Heritage Party NA Faction Secretary Tevan Poghosyan, who is a member of the aforesaid delegation, will participate in the 2014 Rose-Roth Seminar of NATO.
The event will be held from June 16 to 18 in the Azerbaijani capital city Baku, Nahapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“The final decision will be made by Friday. At any rate, we have received a letter from the NATO PA Political Committee, where the secretary of the Azerbaijani delegation noted that security guarantees will be provided so that the Armenian party may participate in the seminar,” he said.
In Nahapetyan’s words, several matters referring to Armenia’s interests, including the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, will be discussed at the seminar.
“A number of issues concerning the South Caucasus, as well as the Crimea crisis’ impact on our region, will be discussed at the seminar,” Koryun Nahapetyan added.
The Rose-Roth Seminars are held since 1990, and they aim to strengthen NATO partnership with the Central and Eastern European countries.
