YEREVAN. – An inter-parliamentary commission of the National Assemblies of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh addressed the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to ensure full participation of NKR at all stages of the negotiation process.
The statement stressed that the process of return and the establishment of the NKR is fully consistent with the fundamental norms and principles of international law.
The statement said in response to free expression of will by the people of Artsakh, Azerbaijan resorted to the policy of ethnic cleansing and solution by force, and continues this policy so far. .
The commission, confirming loyalty to exclusively peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, states the need to strengthen ceasefire, which is a guarantee of final settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict, and the importance of ensuring irreversibility of the peace process.
The commission calls on the OSCE Minsk Group to take effective steps to withdraw snipers, to create mechanisms for investigation of the incidents and rule out statements and actions inciting hatred. The commission is confident that the Armenian people – in Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora – will use the full potential for the implementation of NKR people's right to self-determination and security reflected in the UN Charter and international law.
