YEREVAN. – An Armenian MOD delegation, led by First Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, participated in the Georgian Defense and Security Conference.  

The event was held from Thursday to Saturday in Batumi, Georgia,

The conference discussants conferred on regional and international security issues, informed the MOD press service.

Within the framework of the international conference, Armenia delegation member, First Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Enrico Apriamov met with Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze. They discussed cooperation between the armed forces of Armenia and Georgia.

Tonoyan, for his part, held bilateral meetings with high ranking officers from Georgia, US, Great Britain, and France. The main objective of these talks was to confer on present-day cooperation and the engagement of Armenian peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping missions. The parties expressed readiness to continue cooperation.
