YEREVAN. – Armenia's Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said that sharp deterioration of the situation on the border is not expected.

Asked about upcoming meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in Sochi, Minister said Azerbaijan always creates tension ahead of such meetings trying to influence world community and increase the morale of their army.

“Only a dialogue creates conditions for civilized way of tackling the problems,” Ohanyan said.

The Minister said Azerbaijani leadership will try to preserve tension on the border ahead of the Sochi meeting.

“And it is unlikely to expect that the opponent will fully maintain truce after the meeting,” he added.
