YEREVAN. – Azerbaijani authorities have informed the ICRC Baku office about the death of Armenian citizen who had crossed the border on August 7, ICRC Yerevan office representative Zara Amatuni told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Under its mandate, ICRC maintains contacts with the Armenian authorities and family of the civilian.
“ICRC are holding confidential dialogue with the relevant authorities. This is the reason ICRC will not publicly comment on the developments,” she said.
ICRC representative recalled that the organization relies on its privacy policy, which allows it to address all relevant authorities with humanitarian issues related to people affected by armed conflict.
