YEREVAN. – As a result of Sunday’s meeting in Sochi, Russia, between the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, it can be stated that they have expressed their allegiance to the existing position of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and therefore the format of the OSCE Minsk Group negotiation process will be maintained.

Political scientist Aleksandr Markarov told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The parties stress the pacific settlement of the conflict, since the Azerbaijani party’s recent provocations on the [Armenian-Azerbaijani] border prove the ineffectiveness of the military path and the low level of the Azerbaijani army’s morale as well as combat-readiness. This shows that the Azerbaijani militaristic stance is counterproductive and non-constructive, and it does not enable to settle the Karabakh conflict,” Markarov added, in particular.
