The second earthquake in one day hit Iran near the border with Iraq, U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A magnitude 5.8 quake was registered on Monday afternoon with the epicenter 26 kilometers far from the city of Dehloran, in the west of Iran. No casualties have been reported, RIA Novosti said.

Earlier on Monday an earthquake measuring 6.2 struck western part of Iran, near the Iraqi border. The epicenter of the quake was located 480 km southwest of capital city Tehran, in close proximity to Dezful city, and its hypocenter was 10 km beneath the surface.
