Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan, together with Diaspora-Armenian philanthropist from Diaspora Nikolay Sarkisov, on Monday participated in the official opening of a new building of Stepanakert Basic School No. 1.

Sahakyan expressed gratitude to the philanthropist for funding this large-scale undertaking, and stressed that having a school network that meets modern standards was among the most significant directions of the development of the education domain in the country.

Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, who is Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan, and several other officials also attended the event.
